This is a playlist I made in Spotify years ago. This really started the switch over to streaming sites from iTunes for me. My iTunes library is so huge at this point it is almost unmanageable. I was a huge fan of the Beats streaming service when it was around but have since switched to Spotify.
I knew the AC/DC hits from the radio as most everyone else. But I got really into AC/DC from a mixtape my brothers friend made that had a Bon Scott side and a Brian Johnson side. Lots of hits on this tape as well but it gave me the opportunity to actually rewind and fast forward.

My brother had Jimi Hendrix's compilation 'The Ultimate Experience' This song was my favorite song on it. Although "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" is a close second.

This is my favorite Doors song. It was on the 'Best of The Doors' cassette I had growing up. I love Jim's Voice on this song.

I got the Urge Overkill 'Saturation' cassette after hearing "Sister Havana". I listened to it a lot and I think there are far better songs on the record than the big hit of "Sister Havana" This record also ages quite well and is worth a listen.

"Hey Jealousy" is a great song and the reason I got this cassette. But yet again I discovered far better tracks on the album after digging in. I still follow Gin Blossoms to this day and they have some great records.

Hearing the opening riff "Cult of Personality" blew my mind. It is just so heavy. David Glovers voice is also so great. This cassette got a lot of play and I followed Living Colour through the album 'Stained'

I first heard Guzzard on a mixtape my brothers friend made me. The 'Get A Witness' album was one of the first CDs I ever bought. The next records was good too. I got to see Guzzard in the 7" Street Entry once.
Find out more about Guzzard on their Facebook.
Rage Against the Machine were a huge deal. They were heavy, they were kinda hip hop, they sounded smart. This cassette got played a ton and I got to see them on Lollapalooza 93. They were incredible. I am happy that they are playing again and hopefully we can get a new album from them.

Nine Inch Nails were and are still such a great band. I had 'Pretty Hate Machine' and 'Broken' on cassette. "Wish" is such a ripper. The more recent NIN records are all good as well. I went to see them live a few years ago and it was incredible.

Ice-T 'O.G. Original Gangster' is a perfect hip hop record. It also included the song "Body Count" which introduced me to the band Body Count. I was completely hooked. I searched and searched to try and find the Body Count album on cassette but I couldn't find it anywhere because it had been banned due to the song "Cop Killer". I did find the updated version with the song removed and that tape is an absolute favorite on mine. Years later I did eventually find the "Cop Killer" versions of both the cassette and CD. I saw Body Count live in the Mainroom and it was incredible. The most recent Body Count records are awesome as well and super fun to listen to.

I first got into Killing Joke while working at Extreme Noise. My friend Mark got me into the 'Night Time' album. I was fully in after that. I starting listening to everything I could and trying to scoop up as many B-sides as possible. I was able to see them live in Denver after we moved and it was awesome.

My brother got me into INXS when I was a little kid. "Mediate" always stuck with me as a haunting yet catchy song. 'Shabooh Shoobah' is my favorite record by INXS. 'Listen Like Thieves' is also a great record. Michael Hutchence has such a great voice. There is a great documentary called "Mystify Michael Hutchence" that is available to stream and is highly recommended.

My friend Dustin got me into Kraftwerk. 'Radioactivity' was the first record I ever bought from them. 'Computer World' is such a great record with catchy songs. I also really enjoy the very early years 'Kraftwerk 1' and 'Kraftwerk 2'.

I first heard UNKLE from my friend Dustin on a mix that he made me. The first UNKLE record is near perfect. It has some really great tracks on it. This record plays well back to back with 'Entroducing....' by DJ Shadow which make sense since he wrote both of them.

I got into Calexico from my friend Timbomb. It was so unique and it caught my ear instantly. The 'Feast of Wire' record is my favorite by them and I got to see them around this time in the Mainroom.

I first got into Wire through punk rock and Minor Threat covering their song "12XU". Wire is a band that you should always keep digging into. So many of their records are so different and have such great songs in so many different genres. The first 3 records are a great place to start.

I found The Pogues through Dillinger Four covering "Sally MacLennane". When they played this song live the place would go crazy. So I had figure out what this song was. I started buying Pogues CDs and my favorite is 'If I Should Fall from Grace with God'

I got really into The Cure for many years. 'Disintegration' is my favorite record by them. Unfortunately I saw them live once and I was really unimpressed and ever since I really don't listen to them at all. Too much jamming out songs live really bummed me out.

I got into Pulp while visiting my friend Adeet in London while visiting him to see Morrissey live at The Forum. Adeet told me to check out the 'This is Hardcore' album. I fell in love with that record. After that I started to dig into the rest of their catalog. 'His n Hers' is also a great record.

The Stone Roses first record is a absolutely perfect record. It was hard to pick a song for this playlist. I really love listening to this record in the Spring and early Summer.

'By The Grace Of God' is my favorite record by The Hellacopters. Their version of rock and roll is timeless and fun. It is mind blowing that Nicke Andersson was also in Entombed and so many other bands. Clearly he is a musical genius.
